Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
The Young Legacy is Amy Young’s personal journal of faith, wellbeing, learning, service, travel, and the arts. This policy explains how information is handled when you browse this website or get in touch.
1. Information you share with us
When you use our contact form or send an email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and message. Please include only the information needed for your inquiry and avoid sending sensitive personal details.
Contact submissions may also include technical details, such as the submission time, your IP address, and browser information. The website and its hosting services may process technical information to deliver pages, diagnose problems, and protect the site.
2. Contact messages and storage
We use your message and contact details to respond to your inquiry and manage related correspondence. Our contact form is configured to send an email notification and save a copy of the submission in the website’s WordPress database using Flamingo. The stored copy provides a backup if an email notification is missed or filtered as spam.
Messages can therefore exist in both the website database and the receiving email account. Deleting an email does not automatically delete the database copy, or vice versa.
3. Access and service providers
Website administrators can access stored submissions to manage inquiries and maintain the site. Hosting and email services also process information as part of providing those services. Information may need to be disclosed where required by applicable law.
4. Cookies
WordPress uses cookies for functions such as checking browser cookie support, keeping authorized users signed in, and remembering their administrative display preferences. These account-related cookies apply when the relevant login or administration features are used.
You can manage or remove cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect sign-in and other features that depend on them.
5. Links and embedded content
Our articles may link to other websites or include content supplied by third parties. Following a link takes you to a site with its own privacy practices. If third-party content is embedded on a page, its provider may receive information about your visit, use cookies, or record your interaction with that content.
Please review the relevant provider’s privacy policy before interacting with its services.
6. Keeping and deleting information
Contact messages may remain in the website database and email correspondence until they are deleted. You can contact us to ask about information associated with your inquiry or to request its deletion. Some records may need to be retained for administrative, legal, or security reasons; copies may also remain in backups until those backups are replaced or removed.
7. Your privacy requests
You can ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you have provided to us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request to protect your information.
Use the contact details below and describe your request, including the email address you used to contact us. Please do not send identity documents unless specifically requested through an appropriate channel.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website and its features change. The date above shows when this wording was last revised.
